July 13 was a great day at the IT Pro Camp hosted by Keiser University in Ft. Lauderdale (http://itprocamp.com/southflorida/south-florida-it-pro-camp/). I was honored to represent 3Deers and do a presentation on utilizing Microsoft Excel as a front end tool for Business Intelligence.
Many people do not realize that you can use Excel to directly access a SQL, Access or other database. 3Deers finds that Excel is an amazing tool and the reports are easy to create, maintain, and (best of all) clients love them and use them! Our presentation at the IT ProCamp spoke on this topic.
We had a great turnout and response from folks that came to the event. People asked if we would publish our notes on our wedsite. Below is a PDF file of the presentation on Excel For Business Intelligence, as requested. The presentation / demonstration used a simple access database with ZIP Codes and an excel spreadsheet where we connected to bring in the data. I am happy to share the database and spreadsheet to anyone interested. To get a copy of the documents, please send me a note through our contact form (http://www.3deers.com/who-we-are/contact-us/).
Our thanks to Keiser University for hosting and Sherlock Tech for organizing the event. There was a great gathering of the speakers the night before and we really appreciated how well everything went on Saturday.
