Microsoft Excel has an often overlooked feature allowing users to connect to data sources including SQL and MS Access. While this may not be the most sophisticated tool, we find that non-techies (ie, management, sales, operations… anyone outside of the computer room) love this interface. It is familiar, easy and therefore used.
