Independent Seeking Fame and Fortune

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Starting off as an independent is a great new challenge.  Let’s see… no boss, no co-worker madness, setting your own schedule.  Wow, it’s a dream come true!

Ever since watching the Christmas Classic “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” we have all searched to be in-de-pendent.  You remember when Rudolph and Herbie “the Dentist” took off on their quest for Fame and Fortune… didn’t it all seem so perfect, despite their troubles?

Well, as a new independent we will have many of the same trials and turbulent days ahead of us, as did Rudolph and his pal.  There will be days when you feel out in the cold.  There will be times when you are making toys in a shop just yearning to be a dentist.  You will bump into many guys like Yukon Cornelius that want their own silver and gold and certainly an Abominable Snowman or two that wants to take it all away.

But maybe… just maybe… with a little hard work and perseverance you will bump into some group of misfits (or clients) and find you can help.  You will find you are the one with the right connection to make a deal come through.  Don’t forget, even the funny looking reindeer with the big red nose had the best connection of all. Rudolph had Santa.

Sometimes it’s just plugging along, getting out there and knowing people that can make the difference in your life as an independent.  Always work to really help people and bring others together in their own quests for fame and fortune.

With a little luck, you may find yourself lighting the night sky… leading your own team and pulling a sleigh on a magnificent journey.

  1. Cute article! Very true! As a small business owner I sometimes I feel very isolated, screaming into cyberspace and other days very connected. It isn’t at all what I imagined it would be.
