Not just another mock on the name Perry, but actually a semi-brand in the world of Multi-Valued languages. Multi-valued languages have their roots in the PICK operating system which evolved to Prime INFORMATION and now in the form of UNIdata from IBM.
The Mulvi-value world has some great query techniques, ones that pre-dated SQL and in many ways are still superior, though not as well known. Reports can easily be saved for re-use and a saved report is called a PARAGRAPH.
After producing literally hundreds of reports for various applications a colleague dubbed them Perry-Graphs. I admit, I loved the term and was more than happy to use this moniker for my reporting.
