![]() | Vision and Art: The Biology of Seeing by Margaret Livingstone
Buy used from: $16.99 This book should be required reading for all art students and anyone with eyeballs. This is a beautiful book, it's an excellent reference on how we see. It's also an interesting alternative "history of art" as told by artists who successively learned to exploit human color vision for artistic goals.

![]() | Diagnosis of Defective Colour Vision by Jennifer Birch MPhil FCOptom
Buy used from: $877.31 The previous books in my listmamia talk about normal human color vision. This book is the best one I could find on abnormal color vision. it has some nice color plates and discusses testing, and measurement.
Buying tip: you might find this used for cheap if you live near a medical school.

![]() | Color Index: Over 1100 Color Combinations, CMYK and RGB Formulas, for Print and Web Media by Jim Krause
Buy used from: $4.97 Because sometimes picking colors is hard.
The only downfall of this book is that the hex RGB triplets are not given (they are in decimal 0-255) which makes it a big clumsy for CSS.
